CC Index under New Cotton National Standard GB1103-2012

New cotton national standard GB1103-2012 has come into effect since 1st September, 2013. The new standard applied color grade as its classing norm and made unified color grade and preparation samples for application.The 13 new color grades include white cotton grade 1 to grade 5, light spotted cotton grade 1 to 3, light stained cotton grade 1 to3, and yellow stained cotton grade 1 to 2.  In order to comply with the new standard, CC Index made the following modifications:
The three new typical grades are chosen for insurance of CC Index under new standard: CC Index2129B stands for white cotton grade 2, length of 29mm, micronaire B, representing high quality cotton; CC Index3128B stands for white cotton grade 3, length of 28mm, micronaire B, representing middle quality cotton; CC Index2227B stands for light spotted cotton grade 2, length of 27mm, micronaire B, representing low quality cotton. Medium uniformity, medium strength, medium preparation and low foreign fiber content shall be applied for above three grades. Prices and provincial statistics on 1129B, 1228B, and 4128B shall also be published for reference.
Issuance for CC Index under new standard began when there are enough new arrivals entering the market and the actual transaction occurs to allow national lint spot price to generate. On 16th September, CC Index 2129B, CC Index 3128B and CC Index 2227B were issued for the first time simultaneously with the former indexes. Since 8th October, the new indexes have been issued solely.
