Agricultural Affairs Officials of US Embassy Visited China Cotton Association

Recently, Ms. Jennifer Clever and Mr. Andrew Anderson-Sprecher, Agricultural Attaches of Embassy of the United States of America Agricultural Affairs Office visited China Cotton Association (CCA), to discuss the implementation and effects of Xinjiang cotton target price trial and also ask CCA opinions on cotton import quotas and reserve cotton issues. Madam Gao Fang, Executive Vice President of CCA answered their questions and also briefed them with current China cotton production, trade, textile demand and government policy. Both believed the forthcoming stage is vital for the transformation and upgrading of China cotton and textile industry, the future development shall improve the industry competitiveness and the income of participants; to fulfill this, the China-US Co-operation in cotton sector needs to be strengthened.
