State Cotton Target Price Investigating Group Visited Aksu, Xinjiang

On 18th/19th February, the State Cotton Target Price Investigating Group visited Aksu, Xinjiang, for cotton target price subsidy program, where Aksu is one of the trial spots in Xinjiang. During the investigation, the group visited cotton procurement and processing companies, cotton growers in Awat County, and had meetings with local government officials to discuss the potential impact of target price subsidy on cotton textiles and growers. Aksu has cotton acreage of 6 million mu (0.4 million hectare), about one tenth of the national total, and the home of long staple cotton in China.
