2014 National Cotton Planting Intentions Survey - February, 2014

From the end of February to the beginning of March, 2014, China Cotton Association Cotton Farmer Cooperation and Xinjiang Huatai Cotton Professional Cooperation conducted the third cotton planting intentions survey of 2014 to 2,786 cotton planting units in 12 Provinces and 310 counties, cities, and PCC regiments. The survey result shows the national planting intension decreased by 10.5% over the year, the cotton planting acreage of 2014 estimates to be 62.59 million mu nationwide, which based on calculation of 2013 CCA acreage statistics. Amongst the growers in the survey, 27% of them is going to decrease the acreage, 9.4% will increase and 50.9% will keep last year’s level, and 12.7% is still undecided.
