Weekly Report: Good Weather for Cotton Sowing, Southern Xinjiang Processed Faster than Last Season

In the first half of April, the sprouting of cotton planting started in cotton regions nationwide. The temperature is similar with or higher than last year, with more sunlight hours. After the gale during 12th -14th, temperature recovered gradually. In Xinjiang the sowing is faster than last spring, especially in South of Xinjiang, where the previous seeds had sprouted already.
Recently, domestic cotton yarn market is sluggish with little changed price; at the same time, most cotton companies held negative market outlook and sold on discount.
Last week (13th -17th April), domestic cotton spot price decreased. On 17th, CCIndex(3128B) settled at 13,415 Yuan/ton, 37 Yuan down over the week.
