Weekly Report: Lint Spot Sales Advanced Slowly at Slightly Decreased Price

A press conference on latest progress of target price reform trials was held by Xinjiang cotton target price reform office. Currently the trials work advances smoothly with apparent effect of renewed market price based on actual supply and demand; the new subsidy methods were approved by cotton growers. The whole cotton value chain benefited from the improved market environment and cotton quality.
Last week (22th -26th December), domestic lint spot price decreased slightly. On 26th, CC Index 3128B settled at 13,617 Yuan/ton, 11 Yuan down over the week. By the end of the year, only a few ginners keep buying seed cotton, most of them is working on promoting their lint, the price of which fell slightly affected by sluggish downstream demand. The inland seed cotton market is in stalemate, except Anhui province where the subsidy delivery plan was announced, and Shandong province where textile mills are abundant. According to CCA cotton processing industry branch, in Yangtze region the 3128 equivalent seed cotton buying price is 6.04 Yuan/kilo, 0.04 Yuan up over the week; that in Yellow River region is 6.12 Yuan/kilo, 0.05 Yuan down over the week.
