China’s raw cotton import in January

According to the statistics of General Administration of Customs, China imported 157,700 tons raw cotton in January 2008, which decreased 164,900 tons or 51% to December, increased by 34,600 tons or 28.11% compared with the same period last year.
The cumulative imports in 2007/08 season were 953,900 tons, 29.3% higher than the same period of last year.
