China’s cotton imports in August down

　　In August, China imported 286,000 tons of cotton, that decreased 4,400 tons against July, down by 1.5% and decreased 86,800 tons by 23.29% year-on-year.
　　In the 2005/06 season (September to August), Cumulative imports of cotton reached 4,112,000 tons, increased 2,457,000 tons up by 148.4% from a year earlier. The imports in the first eight months of the calendar year were 103.8% higher at 3,028,000 tonnes, compared with the same period of last year.
